How can all of these big corporations increase their prices on a constant, when their profits continue to grow on a constant as well? It's not fair to the average American. People that live in the lower middle class and below suffer from these business practices. Yea, it may be a $0.25-$0.50/gallon increase in gas (with no explanation as to why, when the price of oil has just went down) or a $50 a month increase to the electric company for
new various 'fees'. Or the cable company charging $20 more a month because I'm not in a 'packaged' deal. But at the end of the day, and the end of the month, that's a whole paycheck to the
average working American. Which in this example is still considered well above the poverty level. At the poverty level it's over 1/2 a month's wages.
Ok, so this is a very rough average of the price increases around the country, but it dosen't stop at utilities and gas. It's also at the grocery store. What's the use of competition anymore? Companies anymore just compete to see who can rip the public off the most. We are going through rough times, and people need to help each other out more.
Look at the devastation in Haiti right now. Look how much money people are sending over there. The Red Cross has already had over 100 Million dollars in donations. People are rushing to adopt children, and send food. This is great, and awesome, but how come it seems as if the American public doesn't care for each other like that. Like the deal with people being upset with the health-care bill, only because taxes will increase. Would you donate a small portion of your paycheck every week, if you knew it could save someone's life, which one day, might be your own?
Like I said, these are really hard times for a lot of people. Everyone needs to just go outside, and look around your town. What can you do? We are the only people that can save this country from this horrible mess. Can we do it? Only time will tell.
